Amuneke's club in court over Nwakali transfer

The youth club of Nigeria U17 coach Emmanuel Amuneke have been dragged to court over a breach of contract in respect of Chidibere Nwakali.

We specially gathered that Shuttle Sports Academy in Lagos will face charges of a breach of contract after a top agent claimed they failed to honour a mandate they gave them to take Nwakali to Manchester City.

“Amuneke’s club are in court over Nwakali’s transfer to Manchester City. They gave an agent a mandate for the same club and apparently went behind to talk directly with the club to the exclusion the agent.

“They claim they were not aware of the mandate they gave the agent and now the matter has to be resolved in court.”

It was further gathered that the general manager of the club was detained by police in Lagos when the matter reached a head, before he was later released.

Former Barcelona and Sporting Lisbon left winger Amuneke attended the signing of Nwakali by Manchester City in England.

Promising midfielder Nwakali featured for Nigeria at last year’s U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, where the Golden Eaglets clinched a record fourth global laurel.
