Bayelsa United on Friday snatched a 0-0 draw at AS Kondzo in a CAF Confederation Cup tie despite a delayed arrival in Congo.
Bayelsa were in danger of suffering a walkover in the first round first leg clash in Brazzaville due to a delay in the release of funds for the trip.
But the Yenagoa club finally departed Nigeria late on Thursday and hours later held their hosts to a scoreless draw.
The return leg match is slated for Sapele in a week’s time with the overall winners advancing to the second round of the second-tier continental club competition.
Bayelsa reached the semi-final of the competition in 2009.
