Buoyant Sociedad take aim at Sevilla

Real Sociedad midfielder Inigo Martinez is hopeful that his side will produce another solid display when they visit Sevilla for a La Liga encounter at the Ramon-Sanchez Pizjuan on Sunday.

The Erreala were amongst the big winners in the league last weekend as they defeated Barcelona 3-1 at home.

Inigo, who is set to make his 100th appearance for the club on Sunday, says he is looking forward to the milestone and helping his side collect more points to boost their chances of qualifying for the Champions League.

“Sunday’s game will be just another game on the field of play but it means a lot for me to play so many games at my age,” the 22-year-old told reporters.

"At the moment, everyone at the club is excited and it’s understandable after what happened against Barcelona.

“Now we have to prove ourselves against Sevilla; it’s going to be a difficult duel but we’ll go there to compete, defend well and use our opportunities to try and get the three points.”

Real Sociedad are currently in sixth place on the log with 43 points, while Sevilla are one spot below them with 35 points.

Unai Emery’s side ended a six-match winless streak last weekend as they labored to a 1-0 away win over Rayo Vallecano and will look for an even better performance at home.

The Sevillistas will play the second leg of their Europa League tie against Slovenian outfit, Maribor, before preparing for Sunday’s league clash.
