Eto’o enjoying his time at Chelsea

Samuel Eto’o insists that he is enjoying his time at Chelsea despite rumours suggesting he will return to former club Mallorca.

Eto’o bagged a hat-trick as the Blues stunned defending champions Manchester United 3-1 and the former Barcelona marksman now hopes to add more goals to his tally and subsequently help the London club to some silverware.

“I like playing and when I get the chance to do that I have to help my teammates,” the Cameroonian told Express.co.uk.

“There is a huge difference between English football and the other championships, you almost can’t compare it, but I am trying to adapt very quickly and that is okay.

“The most important thing in life is to work hard. Football is part of my life and I try to be happy all the time. That is why I am always smiling. If my work allows me to be even happier, then that is great.”

The 32-year-old initially struggled to adapt to life in England but has shown glimpses of his old self in recent weeks.

He might not have the pace anymore but he has the experience and awareness and hopes that he can help the Blues to some silverware.

“The season is long, and there are a lot of things that could happen, but I hope to score more goals, help my team and then hopefully the season will end well for Chelsea.”
