Gambo Mohammed, Adedeji injuries serious - officials

Eagles officials have said the hamstring injuries of Gambo Mohammed and Yinka Adedeji are serious and as such they are 50-50 for CHAN.

Pillars striker Gambo Mohammed has been nursing a hamstring complaint and so did not travel for the weekend’s test game in Port Harcourt, while Adedeji travelled for the game and was listed to start only to receive a hamstring injury while warming up.

The team’s medical staff said the chances of the players are 50-50 as the date for the naming of the final 23-man squad for the championship draws near.

Two other players are carrying knocks - Solomon Kwambe, who had a good game against Gokana United, and Pillars central defender Umar Zango, who did not make the trip to the Port Harcourt friendly.

“We have worries medically but we will wait till the last minute to see if the players can pull through,” Keshi admitted.

Meanwhile, the team will on Monday morning tackle Nigerian league champions Kano Pillars at the mainbowl of the Abuja National Stadium.

The Eagles have so far played four test matches against local sides, winning three and drawing one against Gokana United.
