Melo: Gala will eliminate Juventus

The Brazilian midfielder is optimistic about his
side's chances of progressing from the Champions
League group stages

Felipe Melo remains confident that Galatasaray will
reach the knockout stages of the Champions
League at the expense of his former club Juventus .

The Turkish champions dropped to third spot in
Group B this week and know a win will only see
them through to the last 16 following their 4-1
defeat against Real Madrid and the Serie A
champions' win over Copenhagen.

However, Melo, who joined the Bianconeri from
Fiorentina in 2009, has little doubt that his current
club Galatasaray will set the record straight on
matchday six.

"Juventus are a great team and we will need an
exceptional performance," Melo told Radio Onda
Cero.

"However, we are confident that we will emerge
victorious and reach the knockout stages."

Galatasaray held Juventus to a 2-2 draw in Turin
in the reverse fixture in October, with striker Didier
Drogba giving the away side the lead before goals
from Arturo Vidal and Fabio Quagliarella restored
Juve's advantage. Umut Bulut had the final say
with a last-minute equaliser.

The Istanbul giants made it to the quarter-finals of
the Champions League last term but their progress
was halted by Madrid.
