2014 W/CUP DRAW: EAGLES SCARE BRAZIL

Brazilian journalist reveals feelings
on the streets of Brazil
Brazil football fans do not want
reigning African champions, the
Super Eagles of Nigeria in the same group with the
Samba Boys when the draw for the 2014 FIFA
World Cup is made next week Saturday at the
Costa do Sauípe Resort in Bahia, Brazil.

This much was revealed to Complete Sports by a
Brazilian sports journalist,Ciro Gilmar Campos
Filho yesterday.

Filho says majority of Brazilians are scared of
clashing with the Eagles in the group stage of the
championship, saying they will not want the two
teams to be drawn into the same group on
December 6.

"The feeling here in Brazil is that Nigeria doesn't
fall into the same group with us (Brazil). We don't
want to meet the Super Eagles at the group
stage',''Filho disclosed.

"The preference here is for us (Brazil) to get
weaker teams in the draws and possibly meet
Nigeria in the later stages of the competition."

On why the Samba Boys would not want to
confront African champions in the early stages of
the competition,Filho said:"We watched your
team's friendly match against Italy in London.

Nigeria played very well and has a confident and
well organized team.

"Again we don't want to remember the match
against Nigeria in the Olympics in Atlanta in 1996.

Kanu was great (then) and Nigeria has many good
players and they also played well during the
Confederations cup tournament in June".
