also expected to be in action tonight
Super Eagles striker Ikechukwu Uche
who scored his second goal of the
season in the La Liga last weekend against
Valencia in a 4-1 win will be gunning for his third
goal of the season tonight when his club, Villarreal
host his former club Getafe at their Camp El
Madrigal abode.
Uche who has not been invited to the Super Eagles
since he helped the his country win the 2013
AFCON trophy in South Africa last February has
been in inspired form for the Yellow Submarine in
seven league games this season and is keen to get
back into the national team fold.
Also in Spain tonight,Eagles midfielder Nosa
Igiebor is most likely to start from the blast of the
referee's whistle as Real Betis welcome Levante at
the Estadio Benito Villamarín. Igiebor has scored
one goal for Betis this season from his midfield
position in seven La Liga games.
Jude Odion Ighalo is also likely to get a starting
shirt tonight as Granada play second-placed
Atletico Madrid at the Estadio Nuevo Los
Carmenes. Granada are without four of their regular
players due to injuries so there is chance for
Ighalo to start the game just as he did last
Saturday in his club's 1-0 away win over Elche in
which he played for 74 minutes.
Ighalo, a former
U-23 star has played four league games though
has not scored any goal thus far.
In Belgium, two Nigerians are expected to be on
duty for their respective clubs.
Former Flying
Eagles striker Michael Okechukwu Uchebo will be
hoping to score his third goal of the season for
Cercle Brugge when they welcome cross town
rivals Club Brugge at the Jan Breydelstadion.
Uchebo has scored twice in the Jupiler in 10
league games this season.
One-time 36 Lions FC of Lagos youth prodigy
Imoh Ezekiel who has the trust of his manager,
Guy Luzon, will be called to action at some point
in Standard Liege's home game against Waasland-
Beveren. Ezekiel has notched an impressive six
goals in 12 Jupiler league games thus far and
seems ready to add to that number tonight.
